If education is about three things, it is about information, curation and motivation. When it comes to computer science, the Internet has dramatically increased the amount of available information, but has barely helped with curation and arguably done more harm than good for motivation 😀.

We can’t do much about your motivation level, but we felt that we could do a far better job of curating this vast world of computer science videos, courseware and textbooks for you. Based on our experience mentoring and teaching computer science to hundreds of self-taught engineers and bootcamp grads, we produced Teach Yourself Computer Science, our short list of what, how and why to… um… teach yourself computer science.

We’ll keep evolving the guide as new resources emerge and as we get more feedback from students, but already I’m confident that it represents the best way to learn computer science outside of a classroom environment. We hope it helps you, and would love to hear from you if it does!
